What sports star would you most like to meet?
I have to go with Barry Bonds the Home Run King, Ken Griffey Jr. “The Kid” and Marshawn Lynch. Barry was an icon – he grew up in the Bay Area and no matter what anybody says one of the most dominant athletes of all time. Griffey was to baseball what Michael Jordan was to basketball and being a baseball guy myself who grew up in the 90’s nobody was cooler than “The Kid”. As for Marshawn, how can you not like the guy?! He’s another Bay Area local only 5 years older than myself who I remember hearing about when he was at Oakland Tech and watching when he was at Cal. Big Fan of Beast Mode.
Where have you traveled to and where would you still like to go?
I have been over Europe, something like 15 countries and absolutely love it out there. I have also been to Colombia but would definitely like to explore more of South America. I think the real question is where don’t I want to go? In my opinion there aren’t many better ways to spend your time then seeing new places.
What’s the most non-traditional job you’ve ever had?
My dad is in the wholesale coffee business and every few months when I was in high school I would clean the exhaust pipe for the coffee roaster. We’re talking an industrial sized roaster with an exhaust pipe big enough for me to crawl into, and I’m 6’6″. I used to come out completely covered in burnt coffee grounds and had to take multiple showers to get the smell off me.
Who would you trade places with for one month?
I would trade places with an astronaut about to take off into space. I think that would be an incredible experience and I wouldn’t have to spend years up there, hopefully I could handle a month.
What 3 movies could you watch again and again?
Stand By Me, The Sandlot and Forrest Gump.
