UGM Students Receive 740 Candidates from SNMPTN

As many as 740 prospective new students of Gadjah Mada University (UGM) will be received through the National Selection Log In Universities Affairs (SNMPTN) 2009. SNMPTN announcement will be made simultaneously on Saturday 1 August 2009.

“What is received through SNMPTN about 740 prospective students. Currently, the number of applicants also increased about 3 thousand people,” said Chairman of the Local Committee SNMPTN DIY, Budi Prasetyo on campus UGM, Yogyakarta in Bulaksumur, Friday (31/7/2009).

According to Budi the total number of prospective students who register in the special UGM has increased from 13 years ago from thousands of applicants to about 16 thousand applicants. Meanwhile, for the department that is still a priority and prospective students are still the same compared to previous years as in the Faculty of Medicine. “Medical and techniques remain the most favorite and high,” said Budi.

In addition to the increased number of applicants he said, prospective students’ capacity to be received in each faculty also increased. If years ago UGM only receive about 300 prospective students, so this year to be 740 people or up 100 percent.

When asked the total number of prospective students who received three PTN in the UGM, UNY and UIN Sunan Kalijaga through SNMPTN. Budi said approximately 3,800 candidates received through these channels. “Total in 3800 approximately 3 PTN matriculant UNY and still the most,” he said.

He added both prospective students through the reception line or SNMPTN Write a Test (Utul) conducted in a transparent and all are charged or not free. Number of Donations for Academic Quality (SPMA) at the UTUL this year does not have a zero dollar. But for those who can not afford to submit to receive a scholarship provided.
