Chris joined SPMB in February of 2022 as an Executive in Residence and brings 25+ years of operating experience. Having worked for some of the best technology companies in the Silicon Valley, Chris genuinely believes – and has experienced firsthand – that people are any company’s greatest asset.
Earlier in his career, Chris experienced two high-growth startups with successful IPOs: the first with Plumtree Software in 2002 (which has since been bought by Oracle); and second with Box in 2015 (where Chris was an early executive). He also worked as an executive at high-growth public companies such as NetApp, Agilent, Splunk, Interwoven (HP), and Yext and through those roles gained extensive experience in both building and driving large global teams. Chris also did strategy consulting work at Deloitte as well as a stint at Menlo Ventures.
Since joining SPMB, Chris is focused on recruiting C-Suite, GMs, and Vice President level executives at Enterprise Software and Modern Infrastructure Companies, across all Go-To-Market functions. In a short period of time, Chris has supported CEO, Channel Chief, Global VPs of RevOps and Sales Engineering, and GM of Mid-Market/Enterprise Sales searches, to name a few. Chris brings a consultative, collegiate, growth mindset to all his searches and believes hard work and a positive attitude are the enablers for success.
Chris graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board of the Orfalea Business School, and received an MBA from The Owen School of Management at Vanderbilt University. He resides in Menlo Park with his wife and two beautiful daughters. Outside of work, he spends most of his free time in nature on a trail or road bike, skiing, golfing, and hiking. Following on his years of coaching his daughters, Chris is fulfilling a dream of coaching at the high school level – in this case the boy’s soccer team at St. Francis High School, which won the State of CA High School Sports Program of the Year award for 2021-2022.
