Kevin joined SPMB as a Managing Partner and co-owner in 2004. Prior to joining the firm, he played a significant role in the success and growth of Pierce & Crow, a highly regarded technology-focused search firm. He spent close to a decade delivering leading executive talent and deepening relationships with many notable startups and public company clients such as Check Point Software, Portal Software, and Tivoli Systems. Kevin began his career in technology in the 1990’s in enterprise software sales and marketing.
Over the last decade at SPMB, he’s had the good fortune of working with some standout companies that have achieved material success in their respective markets. Recruiting CEOs, GMs, and Vice President level executives, his clients have included Google, eBay, ServiceNow, VMWare, Marketo and Salesforce.com. More recently he has worked with Coupa, Okta, Stripe, PagerDuty, and Talend.
Raised in the Bay Area, Kevin received a B.A. from Georgetown University and now resides in Marin County with his wife and two sons. Outside of work and a busy family life, Kevin is an accomplished endurance athlete with numerous Ironman triathlon finishes but now spends more time coaching his two boys in whatever sport they seem to be doing.
What’s the most non traditional job you’ve ever had?
Working the 11pm – 7am “graveyard shift” at a Ritz Carlton Hotel right out of college delivering room service to some ‘interesting guests’.
Who would you trade places with for one month?
Felix Baumgartner – the man who broke the sound barrier in a space suit.
What is the hardest thing you’ve ever done?
Going sub 10 hours in an Ironman without recovering post race with an IV which is common. I slept for almost 15 hours and ate an entire large pizza at 10am the following morning.
