Shortly after graduating from UC Berkeley with a degree in Political Science, Ross joined SPMB as an analyst for Team Tucker and Team Doonan. Prior to attending UC Berkeley, Ross studied abroad at Qasid Arabic Institute in Amman, Jordan.
Ross is a Bay Area guy through and through. He moved to the East Bay when he was three years old and has lived there ever since (with the exception of his one year stint in Jordan). Ross’s two favorite professional sports teams are the 49ers and the Warriors. Ross longs to see the day when the 49ers bring the Lombardi Trophy back to the Bay.
In his free time, Ross enjoys spending time with family, drinking coffee, and reading.
What is the hardest thing you have ever done?
Writing an honors thesis in college. The amount of time, effort, and energy that went into writing my 60-page thesis was staggering. I have a newfound appreciation for authors and all of the great work they do.
Where have you travelled and where would you still like to go?
I have had the great fortune to travel to many different countries over the last ten years. I have visited countries in Central America, the Middle East, West Africa, Western Europe, and Eastern Europe. Most recently, I traveled to Bosnia. It is the most stunning country I have ever visited in terms of natural beauty. In the future, I would love to go to Southeast Asia. In particular, I want to visit Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore.
What sports star would you like to meet?
I would love to meet the “Gypsy King,” boxer Tyson Fury. Outside of the ring, Fury has an amazing life story, a larger-than-life persona, and a great sense of humor. Inside of the ring, Fury is an indomitable competitor and impossibly quick for a man of his stature.
